CDm2 LIGHTWORKS is proud to announce a collaborative partnership with James Harry, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw Artist, introducing to our clients his unique artistry and style blending traditional Coast Salish art forms, including Salish design, with contemporary concepts and materials, experimenting with a variety of media, including wood, metal, glass, and light. James is on a mission to collaborate with architects and designers to actively participate in the vital process of decolonization. His vision is to infuse Salish design language seamlessly into the spaces they conceive, bridging the gap between modern architecture and Indigenous perspectives.
“I’m thrilled to join forces with CDm2 in our shared mission to showcase and celebrate Salish art and design.” says James Harry. “I genuinely believe that collaboration is a huge force on the path towards reconciliation. In partnering with CDm2 LIGHTWORKS, I hope to make a significant impact on the architectural and design space while promoting meaningful conversations about Salish culture.”
“It is an honour for CDm2 to collaborate with James Harry, sharing his artistry with our clients, “says Darren Luce, President of CDm2. “The mission is to bring James’ impactful contemporary designs into places that genuinely endeavour to tell First Nations stories and connect people.
