Langley Memorial Hospital Emergency Department

Langley, BC

The Langley Memorial Hospital Emergency Department, designed by Kirsten Reite Architecture, represents a significant advancement in healthcare facility design for the rapidly growing community of Langley, BC.

This expansion introduces a one-storey addition that complements the existing hospital structure. The design strategically enhances patient experience and streamlines flow, with a central “main street” spine for clear navigation and separate zones for varied medical urgencies. Natural materials and abundant daylight further contribute to a serene ambiance, while the project’s adherence to sustainable practices highlights its environmental consciousness.

Innovative lighting technology plays a crucial role in the project, enhancing both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the environment. It not only supports wayfinding but also helps in creating a soothing atmosphere that reduces stress for patients and staff. For more detailed information, click here
