We could not be more proud of the results achieved from the Meteor Downlights coupled with the programming genius of our controls team. It is always a pleasure to support our friends at AES Engineering. Even though our Bluebeam napkin sketches may seem rudimentary at first – they often lead to sophisticated results.
PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
Overlooking Victoria’s majestic inner harbor, the Parliament buildings and surrounding areas are located in the traditional territories of the Lekwungen people. The architectural splendor of the Parliament buildings recently upgraded its interior lighting with Meteor’s tunable white offerings in the REV 6 and REV 8 Prime, with the help of CDM2 Lightworks.
THE SPACE
A total of 104 luminaires are installed in the assembly hall that fills over 200 seats. Directly illuminating this three-story ceiling height installation is our 8″ REV recessed downlight at 185W with our Colorfip tunable white technology. At this specification, this luminaire can deliver up to 17,000 lumens depending on the chosen color temperature and was installed in a retrofit model. Throughout the rest of the space and installed directly alongside the REV 8 is the REV 6 which can deliver up to 8,500 lumens.
TUNABLE WHITE + VIDEO FLICKER FREE
All luminaires installed feature our proprietary VX driver, which allows for flicker-free video recording. This technology combats flickering by increasing the frequency of light at a much higher rate than visible to the naked eye and is crucial in a space like this where conferences are held and broadcasted live throughout the nation. Our VX driver offers flick-free video recording, even up to 960 fps.
