Victor Quezada is a Principal and Architectural Lighting Team Lead at AES Lighting by AES Engineering in Vancouver. He holds an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts and has specialized in lighting design since 2008. Working alongside the engineering professionals at AES has allowed him to use his design and product expertise to contribute to a project’s overall beauty and sustainability, facilitating the aesthetic integration of the lighting solution with the overall architecture and built environment. He has received numerous awards including the IESBC, IES Vancouver and IESNA Illumination Awards of Merit. In addition, Victor has been shortlisted for the Lighting Design Award Magazine’s Low Budget Project of the Year in 2020 and shortlisted for the [d]arc awards in 2019 and 2022. His work has appeared in various publications, including LD+A. He recently presented Lighting Takes the Scene, an Exploration of Light Through the Big Screen at LightFair 2023 in New York.
Douglas Welch has five decades of experience designing specialty lighting projects for theatres, museums, public spaces and buildings, and the urban environment. Douglas brings a high level of experience and professionalism to every project he engages and is the recipient of numerous International Illumination Design Awards. Douglas is among the first lighting designers in the world to earn the new international Certified Lighting Designer (CLD) certification and has received the NCQLP certification as a Lighting Certified (LC) professional. Douglas has a cumulative 40 years international experience designing and managing architectural and entertainment projects.
Simon Willeman is a Field Project Coordinator working full time out of the ETC Los Angeles office. Simon works primarily on the entertainment side of ETC but has a broad knowledge of all ETC product lines. Before his two years with ETC, Simon worked for a representative specifying ETC projects in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Simon studied lighting design and technology with a minor in Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati. On a typical workday, Simon helps with in person demos, answering technical questions, product mockups, digging up old documents and assisting with calls with end users. Outside of work, Simon spends most of his time hiking, creating, and searching for ways to cram too much travel into a two-day weekend.
